Located near Salzburg in Austria, St. Gilgen International School sits in an idyllic position on the banks of the breathtaking Wolfgangsee in the lakeside town of St. Gilgen.

Discover Austria this summer
In July and August 2025, St. Gilgen International School will offer an exceptional Summer Camp experience for children aged 10 to 15 from around the world. The programmes will combine language instruction, in either English or German, with Austrian culture, outdoor adventure and Supplement activities from 5th July to 18th July, from 19th July to 1st August and 3rd August to 16th August. 

Walk your walk
We accept all language abilities, from beginners to advanced, and are pleased to be able to offer this language learning in one of the most beautiful locations in Austria. Each two-week programme provides an exciting combination of academic and extracurricular activities embodying our school values and designed to grow the whole person.

Develop independence
The Summer Camp is also an ideal introduction to the many facets of boarding school life. In fact, many of those children who participate in Summer Camp will join St. Gilgen International School in the future.

Supplement Golf Activity

Golf Training
The camp provides 6 days of training, 3hours per day. Campers train with technical equipment like the trackman or sam puttLab in the beautiful surroundings of the Mondsee Golfclub. Whether a beginner or advanced player the expert coach helps campers

improve. They can even have the possibility of gaining their Platzreife (subject to interest).

When not on the Golf course, the campers join in with the rest of the outdoor activity programme.

Supplement Horseriding Activity

Whether a beginner or advanced rider, campers will learn and develop their riding skills during the 10 afternoons horse riding on camp. St Gilgen International School and Summer Camp work in partnership with EWOT Academy to provide the ultimate equestrian experience expertly led by award winning young competition riders. 

The sessions are tailored to each riders needs through fun, goal setting and video analysis. Beginners start with one-on-one lounge lessons whilst experienced riders can work on their dressage, gymnastics and jumping. When not on a horse riders will learn how to care for them and prepare them for riding. 

Riders can have the option to work towards their riding badges during the camp and then be examined on the last days of camp. The examination fees are not included in the camp costs.

Supplement Sailing Activity

Whether a beginner or advanced, campers will have the opportunity to learn the theory of sailing and develop their sailing skills further on the idyllic Mondsee Lake for 6 afternoons a week 3.5 hours per afternoon. 

Campers will learn the basic knots, wind directions, how to sail in strong winds, what to do in light winds and how to prepare the boat for sailing. Campers conclude the camp with the Grundshein Exam, after the exam they will be able to sail the boat by themselves and instruct their co-sailors. The Grundschein is a basic sailing license whichs allows the students to rent sailing boats up to 14sqm on any lake worldwide. Advanced sailers can have the opportunity to study and train for the BFA Binnen exam. 

When not on the water sailing, the campers join in with the rest of the outdoor activity/ camp programme.

Supplement English Activity

English Language
Camp participants will attend 3 hours of formal classes per day, a total of 15 hours focused language tuition per week. In addition to 3 afternoons a week, either out on language learning visits or activities or creatively using their English to produce a short film, song, play or something else that they will present to the camp on the last day.

Our students enjoy excellent classroom teaching by our passionate teachers in state- of-the-art classroom facilities. Class sizes will be small, allowing our students to benefit from more individual support.

Learning is designed and delivered at each student’s particular level and within a fun and active classroom environment. Students will also have the opportunity to develop their English in real world situations.

The course will conclude with an official language certificate and a detailed action plan.
